Real Madrid secure Yan Diomande on seven-year deal as RB Leipzig agreement is confirmed

Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, ending weeks of uncertainty over the 19-year-old’s future.

The Spanish club announced on Thursday, 6 August 2026, that it had reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the transfer of the highly rated forward. Diomande has signed a contract with Los Blancos running for seven seasons, keeping him at the club until 30 June 2033.

The move, first revealed exclusively by Africafoot, confirms Real Madrid’s intention to add one of the most promising young talents from Ivory Coast to their squad. The deal was formalised as the summer transfer window continues, with the Spanish giants strengthening their options for the seasons ahead.

Real Madrid will now look to integrate Diomande into Jose Mourinho’s system. The teenager is expected to face the challenge of adapting to the demands of Spanish football, with opportunities to demonstrate his ability in both Liga and the Champions League.

The agreement represents a major financial commitment from Real Madrid. The club will pay RB Leipzig €125m in fixed transfer fees, while the overall value of the deal could rise to €140m if all of the applicable bonuses are achieved.

Diomande had been valued at €90m and was earning an annual salary of €750,000 in Germany. That figure is equivalent to 487,500,000 FCFA. His transfer therefore marks a significant step forward in both sporting and financial terms for the Ivorian international.

For RB Leipzig, the agreement brings an end to the prolonged speculation surrounding one of their most valuable young players. For Real Madrid, it provides another addition to a squad being reinforced during an active summer market.

Diomande will now begin the next stage of his career with Real Madrid, where he will be expected to establish himself quickly and justify the club’s substantial investment. His seven-year commitment underlines the long-term confidence placed in him by Los Blancos, while the potential €140m final cost reflects the scale of their belief in his future.

The 19-year-old’s immediate task will be to adapt to Mourinho’s tactical approach and prove that he can perform at the highest level in Liga and European competition. With the transfer now officially confirmed, the wait over his destination has come to an end.
