Anisse Saidi: Benfica B linked with Monterey Bay forward in fresh transfer rumour

Tunisia-American forward Anisse Saidi, currently on loan at Monterey Bay from San Diego, has been linked with a move to Benfica B.

The 18-year-old centre-forward joined Monterey Bay on 16 June 2026 and has made six appearances in the USL Championship this season, scoring once. He has also featured twice in Major League Soccer, registering one assist, while making two appearances in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Saidi is contracted to San Diego, with his loan at Monterey Bay scheduled to end on 30 November 2026. The transfer record lists a return to San Diego at the conclusion of the loan, although Benfica B’s reported interest could create a possible change to those plans.

The forward moved to San Diego from the Philadelphia Union academy in January 2025 before making the temporary switch to Monterey Bay. His current market value is listed at €300,000.

Benfica B compete in Liga Portugal 2, while San Diego operate in MLS and Monterey Bay in the USL Championship. A move to Portugal would therefore represent a change of league and country for Saidi, but the rumour remains unconfirmed.

Saidi’s current agreement keeps him with Monterey Bay until the end of November, when he is due to return to San Diego unless another transfer is agreed.
