G3X deliver Brazil’s breakthrough Kings League triumph in Milan

G3X have won the 2026 Kings League Club World Cup in Milan, becoming the first team from outside Spain to lift the title and securing Brazil’s maiden triumph in the competition.

The Brazilian side defeated Italian champions Alpak FC 9-5 in the final at the Kings League Arena, which was played in front of a capacity crowd. Their victory ended Spanish clubs’ grip on the tournament after they had won the previous two editions.

The title completed a long-awaited breakthrough for G3X, who had previously reached the final in 2024. Their success came at the end of a thrilling week in the Italian city, which also featured a notable presence from the Middle East and North Africa.

The region’s teams produced two of the tournament’s most eye-catching results. DR7, led by Saudi content creator Mufareh Asiri, known as “Darbaha”, defeated holders Los Troncos FC in the opening match.

FWZ, captained by Kuwaiti content creator Fawaz Al-Shammari, then recorded another historic victory by eliminating Porcinos FC. The Spanish team had been regarded as one of the leading contenders for the title.

Both DR7 and FWZ were eventually knocked out in the early stages of the competition, but their victories highlighted the improving standard of Kings League teams in the Middle East. They also demonstrated that clubs from the region can compete with some of the strongest sides in the global tournament.

Sixteen teams representing Kings League competitions from around the world took part in the event, which concluded at the sold-out Kings League Arena.

The tournament attracted a number of high-profile figures from sport and the media. Among those in attendance were Kings League founder Gerard Pique, competition committee president Claudio Marchisio, Inter Milan goalkeeper Josep Martinez, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brazilian former footballer Douglas Costa, and businessman and media personality Joe Bastianich.

Pique said the participation of representatives from the Middle East and North Africa was one of the defining features of the tournament. He praised the performances of DR7 under Mufareh Asiri and FWZ under Fawaz Al-Shammari, saying they reflected the rapid development of Kings League football in the region and the teams’ ability to challenge leading international clubs.

The competition also generated a strong response among Arab supporters, both among fans who travelled to Milan and through digital platforms. Growing interest in Kings League football across the Middle East and North Africa has increased anticipation for the first full season of the competition in the region.

That season is scheduled to take place in Riyadh from 18 September to 30 October, with 10 teams expected to participate. Organisers are anticipating a large crowd as the competition’s popularity continues to grow in the region.

The event in Milan has therefore provided an important platform ahead of the launch of Kings League Middle East and North Africa. Supporters are now waiting for the first complete edition of the regional league, following the prominent participation of Darbaha and Fawaz at the Club World Cup.

Kings League was founded by former Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Pique and has become one of the most prominent examples of modern sports entertainment. It combines high-level football with digital entertainment, with seven-a-side matches played under innovative rules influenced by live-streaming culture and video games.

Teams are led by a mixture of content creators, influencers and football stars, creating a format that links sport, online media and fan interaction.

The competition began in Spain in 2023 and has since expanded into a global structure featuring leagues in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, the Middle East and North Africa, Mexico and Spain. It has also introduced the women’s Queens League and stages two global tournaments each year: the Club World Cup and the Nations World Cup.
