Egypt v Argentina ranks second in beIN SPORTS’ most-watched World Cup matches
Egypt’s group-stage meeting with Argentina was the second most-watched match on beIN SPORTS during the 2026 World Cup, attracting 192.6 million viewers across the Middle East and North Africa.
The figures were released by the beIN SPORTS media group as it reported record levels of viewing and engagement during its coverage of the tournament, which was staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Egypt featured twice in the broadcaster’s top 10 most-watched matches. Its fixture against Argentina ranked second overall, while the meeting between Australia and Egypt was sixth, with an audience of 157.1 million.
The most-watched game of the tournament was the final between Spain and Argentina. A total of 245.4 million viewers in the Middle East and North Africa watched Spain claim the World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Argentina.
beIN SPORTS said its television channels recorded 6.2 billion cumulative views across the entire tournament. The final therefore became the most-watched broadcast in the network’s history.
The figures also included substantial digital and social media activity. Online video content published by beIN SPORTS generated 7.77 billion views during the World Cup, while posts across its various social media platforms recorded 16.96 billion impressions.
The broadcaster’s social media accounts also added 12.2 million new followers during the competition, underlining the scale of audience engagement with its World Cup coverage.

The full ranking of the 10 matches that attracted the largest audiences on beIN SPORTS during the 2026 World Cup was:

Argentina appeared in three of the top three positions, with its matches against Spain, Egypt and England all among the highest-rated fixtures. Spain also featured in three of the 10 most-watched games, against Argentina, France and Portugal.
France had three entries in the list as well, with matches against Spain, England and Morocco. Morocco’s games against France and Canada were also included, while Egypt’s two appearances made it the only other national team besides Argentina, Spain and France to feature more than once.
