ENPPI and Al-Karmah share six-goal draw in pre-season friendly

ENPPI were held to a 3-3 draw by Iraqi club Al-Karmah in a six-goal friendly match as both sides continued their preparations for the new season.

The game was played in the afternoon at Petro Sport Stadium, with ENPPI scoring through Ahmed Nader Hawaash and Hossam Evouna “Ghanem”, who struck twice to complete the Egyptian side’s total.

Al-Karmah are currently holding a training camp in Egypt. The Iraqi club are managed by Moamen Soliman and have Egypt international Ahmed Abdel Kader in their squad.

The result follows a 2-1 victory for ENPPI against Modern Sport in an earlier friendly. Before that, the club drew 0-0 with Tala’ea El Gaish.

ENPPI will compete in the Egyptian Premier League next season after being merged with Eastern Company. The club are expected to discover their full fixture schedule on Wednesday, when the draw for the new Egyptian league campaign is held.

The Petrochemical club have also completed the signing of Mostafa Fawzy from WE on a free transfer.

Several players have left ENPPI during the summer. Oktay Abdallah and Ali Mahmoud have moved to Al Ahly, while Mostafa Shakshak has joined Libyan club Ahly Tripoli on a permanent transfer.

Mohamed Nasser has departed for National Bank of Egypt, while Ahmed Sherif, Khaled Ahmed, Salah Zayed and Ahmed Zaki have all joined El Gouna on loan.

Seif Safaga has also left ENPPI after moving to Algerian club Temouchent on a one-season loan.

The friendly against Al-Karmah was the latest match in ENPPI’s preparations for the upcoming campaign, with the club balancing its pre-season work alongside changes to its squad before the league draw next week.
