Zamalek negotiate new deal for youth player Anas Wael
Anas Wael has joined Zamalek’s training camp in the New Administrative Capital as the club negotiates a new contract with the youth-team player.
Zamalek’s management contacted Wael and arranged for him to be present with the senior squad at the camp, according to information obtained by FilGoal.com.
The club is seeking to reach an agreement with the player that would allow him to sign a new contract and be included in Zamalek’s second domestic squad list. Wael’s name was removed from the club’s first domestic list.
His presence at the camp comes as Zamalek begin preparations for the new season. The club started their pre-season programme on Saturday, 1 August 2026, with all players scheduled to undergo physical measurements and medical examinations before training begins.
Wael is not the only player to have joined the camp while discussions over a new deal take place. Ayman Amir Abdel Aziz was also present after reaching an agreement with Zamalek to sign a new contract.
The developments involving both players come at the beginning of Zamalek’s preparations for the upcoming campaign. The club’s immediate focus is on completing the required physical assessments and medical checks before the squad moves on to training.
For Wael, the camp provides a base while negotiations continue over his future at the club. Zamalek must now finalise the discussions if he is to sign the proposed new deal and have his name added to the second domestic list.
The club’s decision to include Wael in the camp follows direct contact from the management. However, the information available confirms that negotiations are taking place rather than that a contract has already been signed.
Abdel Aziz’s situation is further advanced, with Zamalek having agreed with him on the signing of a new contract before his arrival at the camp.
Zamalek therefore began their new-season preparations with both youth players involved in the squad environment, although their contractual circumstances are different. Wael remains the subject of negotiations, while an agreement has already been reached with Abdel Aziz over a new deal.
The first stage of the club’s preparations will centre on the players’ physical measurements and medical examinations. Training will begin after those checks have been completed, marking the start of Zamalek’s work ahead of the new season.
