Zinho Gano joins Al-Okhdood as Guinea-Bissau and Belgium striker

Guinea-Bissau and Belgium centre-forward Zinho Gano has joined Saudi club Al-Okhdood as a free agent.

The 32-year-old striker moves to the Saudi First Division League side after leaving Al-Raed, where he spent the 2025-26 season. Gano had been without a club since 1 July before completing his move to Al-Okhdood on 17 September 2026.

Gano has extensive experience in Saudi football, scoring 39 goals in 59 Saudi First Division League appearances. He has also recorded 14 assists in the competition, underlining his contribution across his time in the division.

Standing at 1.98m, Gano is a left-footed centre-forward. He previously joined Al-Raed from Al-Hazem in September 2025 on a free transfer, having moved to Saudi Arabia from Belgian club Zulte Waregem the previous year.

The forward began his senior career in Belgium with Club Brugge and spent time on loan at Lommel United and Mouscron before joining Waasland-Beveren in 2015. He later played for KV Oostende, Genk, KV Kortrijk and Royal Antwerp.

Gano won the Belgian title with Genk during the 2018-19 season and helped the club lift the Belgian Super Cup in 2019. He also won the Belgian Cup with Royal Antwerp in 2020.

Across his career in the Jupiler Pro League, Gano has made 183 appearances, scoring 58 goals and providing 14 assists. He has also scored 14 goals in 36 Challenger Pro League appearances and 12 in 22 Belgian Cup matches.

His record includes European experience, with appearances in the Europa League and Europa League qualifying, as well as goals in both competitions. He scored once in three Europa League appearances and once in three qualifying matches.

Gano’s arrival gives Al-Okhdood an experienced central striker with a substantial record in both Belgian and Saudi football. He joins the club on 17 September 2026 after becoming a free agent following his departure from Al-Raed.
