Diogo Correia: Portuguese-Cape Verdean midfielder joins Catawba College on free transfer

Portugal and Cape Verde midfielder Diogo Correia has joined Catawba College in the United States from Alcochetense on a free transfer.

The 22-year-old plays as a defensive midfielder and completed the move on 1 August 2026, ending his time with Alcochetense, who compete in Portugal’s CP – Serie D.

Correia’s switch takes him from the Portuguese club game to Catawba College, marking a move across the Atlantic for the midfielder. His dual nationality links him to both Portugal and Cape Verde, while his position places him in a central role focused on defensive midfield duties.

The transfer gives Catawba College a player with experience in Portuguese football and adds Correia to its squad for the next stage of his career in the United States. No transfer fee was involved in the move.

Correia is now a Catawba College player after completing his free transfer from Alcochetense.
