Ceramica Cleopatra complete loan signing of Al Ahly striker Nejc Gradisar
Ceramica Cleopatra have reached a final agreement with Al Ahly to sign Slovenia international Nejc Gradisar on a season-long loan, according to a club source.
The 23-year-old striker will join Ceramica Cleopatra from Al Ahly and is due to begin training with his new team on Saturday.
“Gradisar has become a Ceramica Cleopatra player for one season on loan from Al Ahly, and he will join the team’s training sessions starting tomorrow,” a source from Ceramica Cleopatra told FilGoal.com.
The agreement confirms an earlier report that Ceramica Cleopatra were close to completing a deal for the Al Ahly forward during the summer transfer window.
Ceramica Cleopatra decided to pursue Gradisar as a replacement for Fakhri Lakay, who left the club to join Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli.
Gradisar arrives after making an immediate impact in his latest appearance for Al Ahly. He played against Al Nasr Cairo and scored twice, with new Al Ahly manager Hussein Ammouta watching the match.
The forward spent the second half of the previous season away from Al Ahly after joining Hungarian club Ujpest on loan. He made 13 appearances for Ujpest during that spell and scored one goal.
Gradisar joined Al Ahly in January 2025 from Hungarian club Fehervar. His move to Ceramica Cleopatra now gives him another opportunity to secure regular first-team football after a period divided between Egypt and Hungary.
At international level, Gradisar has won three caps for Slovenia and has scored one goal for his country.
The completion of the move means Ceramica Cleopatra have secured an attacking option to fill the vacancy created by Lakay’s departure. Gradisar will now link up with the squad and begin preparations with his new team from Saturday.
The final agreement between the two Egyptian clubs brings to an end the recent uncertainty over the striker’s immediate future. Al Ahly will retain his registration while Ceramica Cleopatra take him for the duration of the 2026-27 season on loan.
Gradisar’s arrival follows his two-goal performance for Al Ahly against Al Nasr Cairo, a match that also provided new manager Ammouta with an opportunity to assess the Slovenian forward. He will now look to carry that form into his spell with Ceramica Cleopatra.
The deal was confirmed on Friday, 31 July 2026.
