Ayman Bouali: Morocco forward joins Shamakhi on free transfer

Morocco centre-forward Ayman Bouali has joined Azerbaijani club Shamakhi from Al-Dhaid on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old has moved to the Premyer Liqa side after one season with Al-Dhaid, having previously played in Azerbaijan for FK Sabail. Bouali joined Al-Dhaid from Sabail on a free transfer in September 2025 before switching clubs again at the start of the 2026-27 season.

Bouali is a left-footed striker born in Casablanca and stands 1.74m tall. His arrival gives Shamakhi an attacking player with experience of both Azerbaijani and Turkish football.

During his career, Bouali has made 11 appearances in the Premyer Liqa, scoring twice and providing four assists. He also featured 18 times in Turkey’s 1.Lig, where he scored once and supplied two assists. His record includes a further goal and assist in the Azerbaijan Cup.

His most recent spell in Azerbaijan came with Sabail, whom he joined from Turkish club Umraniyespor in July 2024. That move was also completed without a transfer fee. Before moving to Turkey, Bouali played for Baynounah SC in the United Arab Emirates, following his time with TAS Casablanca.

The transfer continues Bouali’s movement between clubs in Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates since leaving Morocco. He began that sequence with a move from TAS Casablanca to Baynounah in October 2020.

Shamakhi have completed the signing as the club prepares for the new Premyer Liqa campaign. Bouali’s experience across several leagues and his previous record in Azerbaijan form the main background to his move.

The free transfer from Al-Dhaid to Shamakhi was completed on 31 July 2026.
