Mamelodi Sundowns make Katlego ‘Tsiki’ Ntsabeleng transfer permanent

Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Katlego “Tsiki” Ntsabeleng from Major League Soccer club FC Dallas after exercising their purchase option following his loan spell.

Ntsabeleng joined the South African club on loan for the 2025/26 season and made 14 appearances in all competitions. He scored two goals and provided one assist during his time with Sundowns.

His future has now been settled ahead of the new season, with FC Dallas confirming that the transfer has been made permanent. The move brings to an end Ntsabeleng’s four-season association with the MLS side.

A statement from FC Dallas said:

“Midfielder Tsiki Ntsabeleng has completed a permanent transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns after the South African club exercised its purchase option following his season-long loan.”

The 28-year-old, who is from Johannesburg, joined FC Dallas before making his professional debut for the club on 26 February 2022. He was introduced in the 73rd minute of the match against Toronto FC.

Across four seasons with FC Dallas, Ntsabeleng recorded 92 appearances in all competitions. During that period, he scored twice and contributed seven assists.

His first campaign with Mamelodi Sundowns produced a further 14 appearances, with the midfielder adding two goals and one assist to his career record.

The permanent move means Ntsabeleng will remain with the South African club after his initial loan agreement expired. Sundowns decided to activate the purchase option after assessing his contribution during the 2025/26 campaign.

For FC Dallas, the transfer formally concludes the midfielder’s time with the club, where he established himself as a player capable of operating in midfield across regular-season and other competitive fixtures. His overall record for the MLS side stood at 92 appearances, two goals and seven assists.

For Sundowns, the deal secures the services of a Johannesburg-born player who has already spent a full season within the club’s squad. Ntsabeleng’s two goals and one assist last season came from his 14 outings in all competitions.

The confirmation also removes uncertainty surrounding whether he would return to FC Dallas or continue his career in South Africa. Sundowns have now opted to retain him on a permanent basis, completing the transfer before the start of the new season.
