Nabil Bentaleb commits future to LOSC after Algeria’s 2026 World Cup campaign

Nabil Bentaleb has agreed to remain with LOSC for a further two seasons after returning from the 2026 World Cup with Algeria.

The club confirmed the renewal on its official website, securing the future of one of its key midfielders and bringing an end to uncertainty over the 31-year-old’s next move.

Bentaleb came through the academy at Lille before returning to the club in 2023. His new contract will keep him with Les Dogues for the next two campaigns, with the agreement regarded as an important step for the club’s preparations ahead of the first significant fixtures of the new schedule.

The midfielder has also made clear his enthusiasm about continuing his career with LOSC following the completion of the deal. No further details of his comments were included in the announcement.

Bentaleb has made 81 appearances for Lille since establishing himself with the club. His decision to extend his stay represents a continuation of his association with his boyhood side and preserves a key part of the team’s midfield structure.

The Lille-born player has just completed a demanding season in which he featured 37 times. His performances were not entirely consistent throughout the campaign, but he remained an important figure in the northern side’s squad.

His return to LOSC in 2023 followed a career that included a spell with Tottenham. The Algeria international has since become a regular presence for his formative club, adding experience to the midfield at the age of 31.

Bentaleb had only recently come back from the 2026 World Cup, where he represented the Fennecs, before formalising the next stage of his club career. LOSC’s decision to secure his services for two more seasons gives both player and club a clear arrangement for the immediate future.

According to Transfermarkt, Bentaleb currently has an estimated market value of 4.5m euros. His annual salary is listed as 1,000,000 euros, equivalent to 650,000,000 CFA francs.

The renewal means Bentaleb will remain tied to the club where he was developed, rather than moving on after his latest season. For LOSC, the agreement ensures that an experienced midfielder with 81 appearances for the side will continue to provide continuity as the club approaches the opening priorities of its upcoming calendar.

The contract announcement came shortly after Algeria’s campaign at the 2026 World Cup and confirms that Bentaleb’s immediate future remains anchored in the north of France.
