Diawara set for AC Milan move after Troyes agree deal for young defender

AC Milan are close to completing the signing of Troyes central defender Sankhoun Diawara after reaching an agreement with the French club over a permanent transfer.

According to reports in France, including journalist Santi Aouna, negotiations between Milan, Troyes and the player have progressed positively and the move is now described as being at an advanced stage.

Milan have also reached an agreement in principle with Diawara, who is of Senegalese origin, on the main terms of his contract in Italy. Talks with the 20-year-old are understood to have gone smoothly, with all parties keen to finalise the switch as soon as possible.

Only minor administrative details are believed to be outstanding before the transfer can be made official. Barring an unexpected late change, Diawara is expected to commit his future to the Serie A club in the near future.

Diawara is currently under contract with ESTAC Troyes until 30 June 2027 and is valued at around €2m by specialist website Transfermarkt.

A move to Milan would represent a significant step in his development, with the Italian side regarded as one of the most prestigious clubs in European football.

For Diawara, the transfer would mark a major milestone in a still early career, offering the opportunity to test himself at a higher level while joining a club with a long-standing reputation for developing defenders.

Milan, meanwhile, appear set to add another young prospect to their squad as they continue to shape their squad for the future.
