Kevin Carlos: Samsunspor eye move for Nices Spanish-Nigerian striker
Spanish-Nigerian forward Kevin Carlos of Nice is the subject of interest from Turkish Super Lig side Samsunspor, who are exploring a move for the 25-year-old centre-forward this summer. The French club are understood to be braced for enquiries after the strikers first season in Ligue 1.
Carlos joined Nice from Swiss side Basel in August 2025 in a 6m deal and is under contract with the Ligue 1 club until June 2030, a situation that is likely to give the French side a strong negotiating position. He is currently valued at around 4m, and any approach from Samsunspor is expected to reflect that long-term agreement.
Born in Ceuta and eligible for both Spain and Nigeria, Carlos has been used in the attacking line at Nice, making 23 league appearances last season. His most prolific spell to date came in Switzerland, where he scored 28 goals in 74 Super League matches and helped Basel win both the league title and the Swiss Cup in 2024-25.
That form earned him a move to France and followed an earlier spell with Yverdon Sport, after time in Spain with SD Huesca and Betis Deportivo. Carlos also finished as the Swiss top-flights leading scorer in 2023-24 with 14 goals, underlining the level of output that first drew interest from clubs outside Switzerland.
Nice reached the French Cup final in 2025-26 with Carlos in their squad, and the forward is viewed as a saleable asset rather than someone they are actively pushing towards the exit, given the length of his current deal running through to 2030.
