Mohamed Salah to decide future as Saudi and MLS clubs circle
Mohamed Salah is set to spend the summer weighing up the next chapter of his career after leaving Liverpool as a free agent, with clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer lining up to tempt him.
The Egyptian star ended a nine-year spell at Anfield by mutual agreement, closing a run that delivered two Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph.
Salah’s options are wide open, but the Saudi Pro League is seen as the most likely destination by several reports. MLS commissioner Don Garber has openly welcomed the idea of Salah moving to the United States, and San Diego FC have repeatedly been linked with a possible approach.
European names such as Fenerbahce have also surfaced, though the main competition appears to be between the Gulf and North America.
His final decision is expected after he finishes focusing on Egypt’s World Cup campaign. Even after leaving Liverpool, Salah remains one of the game’s biggest names, and his next move will carry major commercial and sporting interest.
He finished last season with seven goals and seven assists in 27 Premier League appearances, a reminder that he is still capable of influencing matches at the highest level.
