Yahya Nadrani leaves Lusail SC to become free agent after Qatar spell
Centre-back Yahya Nadrani has left Qatari side Lusail SC to become a free agent, ending his stint in the Qatar Stars League. The 29-year-old defender, who is eligible for both Morocco and France, departs Lusail without a transfer fee and is now unattached.
Nadranis move comes with his market value listed at 375,000, reflecting a gradual recovery after it had dipped during his time in Qatar before rising again over the past two seasons. Standing at 1.83m and predominantly right-footed, he specialises as a central defender and now re-enters the market at an age where he offers both experience and residual resale value.
The Saint-Etienne-born defender joined Lusail SC in September 2023 from Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, taking his career to the Middle East after spells in Europe and North Africa. During his time with Wydad, his valuation remained around the 400,000500,000 mark, underlining his status as a solid professional option at top-flight level.
Before moving to Morocco, Nadrani played for Aalborg BK in Denmark, having arrived there from RFC Seraing in Belgium in September 2022. His rise in Belgium was marked by a sharp increase in market value, which climbed from 100,000 to 650,000 while at Seraing, highlighting the impact of his performances in the Belgian game.
Nadrani began his career in the youth ranks of AS Saint-Etienne, progressing through the under-17 and under-19 sides to the B team before his first spell without a club in 2017 and a subsequent move to Seraing in 2019.
With his contract at Lusail concluded and no transfer fee involved, Nadrani now enters the next phase of his career as an experienced free agent defender.
