Philippe Nkouka: EA Guingamp B sign French-Congolese defender on free transfer
EA Guingamp B have completed the signing of centre-back Philippe Nkouka from FC Bourgoin-Jallieu on a free transfer. The 21-year-old defender moves within the French system to link up with Guingamps reserve side for the 2026-27 campaign.
Born in Paris on 13 February 2005, Nkouka stands at 1.89m and is primarily deployed as a central defender. He holds both French and Congolese nationality and joins Guingamp B after a short spell at Bourgoin-Jallieu, whom he joined in February 2025.
Nkoukas move continues a steady progression through French youth and lower-league football. Before signing for Bourgoin-Jallieu, he represented US Lusitanos Saint-Maur B, having arrived there in July 2024 from USL Dunkerques under-19 side. His development at Dunkerque followed earlier youth stints with Football Club 93 Bobigny U19 and SM Caen U17.
The transfer further underlines Guingamp Bs focus on recruiting young defensive talent from across the French pyramid, with Nkouka adding height and central defensive depth to the squad. He is registered as part of the reserve set-up, which operates within the French league structure as a pathway towards senior professional football.
Nkoukas latest move marks his fifth club in four years, reflecting a rapid rise through youth and reserve levels into the competitive senior environment at Guingamp B.
