Abdelrahman Kuku: Al-Nasr SC sign Sudan-Australia centre-back on free transfer from Tarxien Rainbows
Al-Nasr SC have completed the signing of defender Abdelrahman Kuku from Maltese side Tarxien Rainbows on a free transfer. The 27-year-old centre-back joins the Kuwaiti club with a current market value of 150,000.
Kuku, a right-footed central defender, moves to Kuwait after a short spell in Malta, having joined Tarxien Rainbows in January 2026. His transfer continues a rapid rise in his valuation, which climbed from 75,000 while unattached in late 2025 to 150,000 during his time with the Maltese club.
Born in Cairo in October 1998, Kuku represents both Sudan and Australia at nationality level and stands at 1.93m, giving Al-Nasr a physically imposing option at the heart of their defence. His move to Kuwait follows recent spells in North Africa, Europe and Australia, underlining a career that has taken in several different football cultures.
Before arriving in Malta, Kuku played for Al-Ittihad SC in Libya after joining from Sudanese side Al-Merrikh SC in 2024. That move came on the back of a stint with Green Gully SC in Australia, having returned there in 2023 following his time in the United States college system.
Kukus development included periods with FGCU Eagles, Flint City Bucks, Seattle Redhawks and EFSC Titans in the United States, after leaving Western Sydney Wanderers II in 2018. Across those moves, his market value peaked at 200,000 in 2021 during his time with Seattle Redhawks before fluctuating in subsequent years.
The free transfer to Al-Nasr SC marks the latest step in Kukus career across four continents and places him back in the Gulf region with one of Kuwaits established clubs.
