Salah: Fenerbahce linked with move for Egypt winger after Liverpool exit
Egypt right winger Mohamed Salah, who is currently without a club after leaving Liverpool, is being linked with a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce according to transfer data showing a 33% probability of the deal.
The 34-year-old, born in Nagrig, Basyoun, saw his Liverpool spell formally end on 1 July 2026, when he became a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Anfield. Despite his current status as unattached, the transfer rumour continues to list Liverpool as the club he is moving from, with Fenerbahce named as the potential destination in the Turkish Super Lig.
Salah, a left-footed attacker who stands at 1.75m, is valued at 22.00m (18.6m) on Transfermarkt, a sharp drop from his peak valuation of 150m during his prime years at Liverpool between 2018 and 2019. His latest market assessment, dated 3 June 2026, reflects a gradual decline in price as he moved into his mid-30s but still underlines his status as one of the most valuable free agents currently available.
The Egypt international, who has represented only his home country at senior level, built his reputation in Europe after leaving El Mokawloon SC for FC Basel in 2012. Spells at Chelsea, Fiorentina and Roma followed before his move to Liverpool in July 2017, where his value and profile escalated dramatically.
Transfer records confirm a long sequence of permanent transfers and loans across Switzerland, England and Italy before his nine-year association with Liverpool, but no fee is listed for his latest departure, underlining that any club, including Fenerbahce, would be negotiating a free transfer.
Should the Istanbul club turn this interest into a concrete offer, a move to the Super Lig would give Salah the chance to extend a career that has already spanned more than a decade at the top level and add a new chapter to his legacy in a different European league.
