Zakaria Eddahchouri: Deportivo La Coruña striker linked with UD Almería switch amid contract uncertainty
Netherlands-Morocco centre-forward Zakaria Eddahchouri of Deportivo La Coruña is reportedly attracting interest from Spanish second-tier side UD Almería, with the 26-year-old’s future in Galicia unclear and the prospect of him becoming a free agent not ruled out.
The Dutch-born forward, who holds both Netherlands and Morocco nationality, is currently valued at €2.50m, according to Transfermarkt, but the latest data lists no fixed contract expiry date at Deportivo. That has fuelled speculation in Spain that Almería could look to exploit the situation either with a cut-price move or by positioning themselves should his deal run down and he become available on a free transfer. The probability of the transfer is currently rated as “?” on Transfermarkt’s rumour scale, underlining that talks have yet to reach an advanced stage.
Standing at 1.87m and wearing the No 9 shirt for Deportivo, Eddahchouri operates primarily as a central striker, leading the line with his right foot and aerial presence. Born in Papendrecht on 11 May 2000, he has built a profile as a traditional penalty-box forward, featuring for Deportivo in Spain’s top flight, LaLiga, after previous spells in the Netherlands before moving abroad.
In his most recent appearance for Deportivo – a LaLiga fixture on 1 June 2026 against top-flight opposition – Eddahchouri featured in a tight contest that ended in a narrow defeat, failing to get on the scoresheet but continuing his run of starts through the final weeks of the campaign. Scouts from several clubs, including Almería, are understood to have tracked his performances over that period.
With both clubs operating in different tiers of Spanish football – Deportivo in LaLiga and Almería in LaLiga2 – a move could offer Eddahchouri the chance of a central role in an attack rebuilt around him. If the transfer materialises, it may prove a decisive step in shaping his reputation in Spanish football and determining whether his dual-national profile can be matched by a breakthrough at a higher competitive level.
