Is Emam Ashour moving to MLS?
Speculation surrounding the future of Emam Ashour and several Al Ahly players has intensified following their impressive performances with the Egyptian national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Reports suggested that strong displays on the global stage had attracted interest from clubs in the American league, sparking debate over possible summer moves.
However, media personality Ahmed Shobeir has stepped in to clarify the situation and address the growing rumours.
Ahmed Shobeir denies official offers for Al Ahly players
Shobeir confirmed through his official account on X that Al Ahly have not received any formal offers for any of their players so far, despite widespread speculation.
He stated that although rumours are circulating in the United States regarding several players, including Emam Ashour, no official contact or proposals have been made to the club.
Shobeir also noted that both the club and players have chosen to postpone any transfer discussions until after Egypt’s World Cup campaign concludes.
Focus remains on Egypt’s World Cup campaign
According to Shobeir, the players are fully focused on their national team duties and are not considering transfer matters at this stage of the tournament.
He emphasised that the priority remains Egypt’s progress in the competition rather than any external interest from foreign clubs.
Emam Ashour linked but no confirmation of move
While Emam Ashour has been among the names linked with possible interest from abroad, particularly from clubs in the United States, there has been no official confirmation of any offer or negotiations.
His recent performances for Egypt have contributed to the growing attention, but as it stands, no formal approach has been made.
Egypt strong start boosts player visibility
The Egyptian national team has enjoyed a strong start to the tournament, collecting four points from their opening two Group G matches.
A 1-1 draw with Belgium was followed by an impressive 3-1 victory over New Zealand, placing Egypt in a strong position to advance to the knockout stage.
As the team continues its World Cup journey, attention on its standout players is expected to remain high, but for now, transfer talks remain purely speculative.
