Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca are on the verge of appointing former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi as their new manager, following the dismissal of Fadlu Davids after a disappointing run of results.
Davids’ departure was confirmed after a string of underwhelming performances that fell short of the club’s expectations, forcing the Casablanca-based side into an urgent managerial reset as they look to steady their season and restore competitiveness both domestically and on the continental stage.
Nabi has emerged as the leading candidate to take charge, with both parties already understood to have reached an agreement in principle over a contract running until the end of next season. Only minor formalities remain before the deal is officially completed.
According to sources close to the negotiations, Nabi is expected to arrive in Casablanca today at 11:00 AM to finalise the agreement in person. His visit is set to include the completion of contractual paperwork and final discussions over his immediate plans for the squad.
The Tunisian coach, who previously managed Kaizer Chiefs, brings considerable experience in African club football and is seen by Raja’s hierarchy as a figure capable of stabilising the team quickly while re-establishing their competitive identity.
Raja Casablanca are hoping the swift managerial transition will prevent further disruption as the club aims to recover momentum in the remaining phase of the season.
If all formalities proceed as expected, Nabi will be officially unveiled shortly after his arrival in Morocco, marking the beginning of a new chapter for one of Africa’s most decorated clubs.
