Udinese weigh move for Nice defender Antoine Mendy
Antoine Mendy, the Senegalese-French centre-back currently at Nice, has been linked with a move to Serie A club Udinese.
Mendy, 22, has a contract with Nice until 30 June 2028 and is valued at €10m. The defender has made 64 Ligue 1 appearances for the French club, scoring once and providing one assist.
Born in Marseille, Mendy joined Nice’s academy from SC Air Bel in 2019 before progressing through the club’s youth structure. He moved from Nice B into the first-team squad in July 2022.
The right-footed defender has also featured in domestic and European competition for Nice, making 10 appearances in the Coupe de France and appearing in the Europa League, Conference League and Champions League qualifying. His senior record includes one further goal in the Coupe de France and one assist in the Europa League.
Mendy’s current market valuation is €10m, while his existing contract means any potential move would involve Nice deciding whether to sell before its expiry. There is no confirmed agreement between the clubs and the proposed transfer remains at the rumour stage.
Nice are the player’s current club, and he remains under contract with the Ligue 1 side through the end of the 2027-28 season.
