Togolese forward Ihlas Bebou could begin new chapter in Switzerland
Togolese striker Ihlas Bebou could be set for a move to Switzerland after emerging as a transfer target for FC Thun following the end of his contract with TSG Hoffenheim.
The 32-year-old forward is attracting attention from the Swiss champions as the club prepares for next season’s UEFA Champions League preliminary rounds.
Thun are reportedly looking to strengthen their attacking department with experienced players capable of contributing both domestically and in European competition.
Despite enduring a difficult campaign in Germany, Bebou remains a player in demand. The former Togo international featured in only 16 Bundesliga matches this season, but his long experience in German football continues to make him an attractive option for clubs seeking proven quality.
Bebou has built a strong reputation during his years in the Bundesliga, making more than 200 appearances in Germany’s top flight.
His experience at the highest level is viewed as one of the qualities that could help FC Thun as they aim to compete on multiple fronts next season.
The Swiss side are believed to value the leadership and attacking depth Bebou could bring to the squad, particularly with the added challenge of European football on the horizon.
His availability as a free agent also makes him a potentially important market opportunity for the club.
While FC Thun are showing strong interest, they are not alone in monitoring the Togolese striker’s situation.
Reports indicate that several German clubs are also following developments closely, including Union Berlin.
Bebou’s future is therefore expected to attract attention during the transfer window as clubs assess the possibility of signing an experienced forward with years of Bundesliga football behind him.
A move to Switzerland would mark a fresh chapter in the career of the Togolese attacker after several seasons in Germany, where he established himself as a reliable and experienced presence in the league.
