Zavier Gozo in action for Real Salt Lake

Zavier Gozo’s rapid rise at Real Salt Lake has placed him firmly on the radar of several European clubs, as the 19-year-old forward openly admits he is ready to take the next step in his career.

The American striker of Ivorian descent has established himself as a key figure in Major League Soccer this season, making 11 appearances and contributing three goals and three assists.

His performances have marked him out as one of the league’s most promising young talents.

Gozo’s form has now been matched by ambition, with the teenager revealing his desire to move to Europe in the near future. Speaking to MLSonAir, he made clear that a transfer could come as early as the next window.

“Obviously, I’d like to continue with RSL for the next two months. And then, during the summer window, obviously, I’d like to go to Europe.

It’s a dream I’ve had for as long as I can remember. So I think this is the perfect time for me to take the next step. If I get that opportunity, I want to seize it 100%.”

That ambition appears increasingly realistic given the level of interest his performances have generated.

According to reports, several European clubs are monitoring his development closely, with scouts regularly attending matches to assess his progress.

Among those linked are AS Monaco, Aston Villa, Atlético Madrid, Villarreal and Barcelona, highlighting the scale of attention surrounding the youngster.

The breadth of interest reflects his growing reputation as one of MLS’s most exciting emerging forwards.

Despite the speculation, Real Salt Lake are not under pressure to sell. Gozo remains under contract until December 2027, with an option for a further two years, giving the club a strong negotiating position.

They are reportedly aiming for a significant transfer fee, believed to be in excess of €10 million, should a move materialise.

For now, the club is expected to hold firm as interest builds ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gozo’s current valuation stands at around €4 million according to Transfermarkt, while he earns an annual salary of approximately €69,000.

As the window approaches, attention will turn to whether any of Europe’s leading clubs are prepared to make a decisive move for one of MLS’s fastest-rising talents.
