The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the schedule for the 2026 CAF Champions League final, setting the stage for a high-stakes encounter between South African powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroccan side AS FAR.

According to the continental governing body, the two-legged final will begin on May 17 in Pretoria, with the decisive second leg set for May 24 in Rabat. However, CAF is yet to confirm kick-off times and match officials for both fixtures.

The showdown brings together two of Africa’s most competitive clubs after a demanding campaign in the CAF Champions League, with both sides now one step away from continental glory.

Mamelodi Sundowns will be aiming to capitalise on home advantage in the first leg, while AS FAR are expected to lean on their strong home support in Rabat for the return fixture.

Beyond the immediate battle for the Champions League crown, the stakes extend further.

The winner of this year’s competition will face the champions of the CAF Confederation Cup in the annual CAF Super Cup, adding another layer of significance to the final outcome.

CAF is expected to release further details, including officiating appointments and broadcast arrangements, in the coming days as anticipation builds across the continent for one of African football’s premier fixtures.
