Dembele targets second win in Munich after PSG Bayern classic

Ousmane Dembele admitted Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-4 win over Bayern Munich in their Champions League semi-final first leg was as exhausting as it was exhilarating, but stressed the job is far from done.

The winger, who struck twice in the nine-goal thriller, reflected on a night when both teams attacked relentlessly and PSG nearly let a 5-2 lead slip.

“It was a crazy match. Two big teams attacking without hesitation. These are Champions League semi-finals,” Dembele said as he assessed a contest that swung dramatically in PSG’s favour and then back towards Bayern late on. “We know Bayern are a great team. We are too, and we’re happy with the result, even if at 5-2 we stopped playing a bit towards the end.”

Dembele acknowledged that fatigue and Bayern’s quality contributed to the German side’s late fightback, calling it “an incredible match.” Looking ahead to the return leg, he was clear about PSG’s mindset: “Now we’re going to Munich to win another match. To qualify, we’ll have to stay focused.”

He expects another open, high-intensity encounter in Germany, with both sides likely to stick to their attacking approach as a place in the final hangs in the balance.
