Marshall Munetsi to stay at Paris FC

Zimbabwe star Marshall Munetsi may have struggled to establish himself at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the midfielder has rediscovered his form since making a January loan move to Paris FC.

The 29-year-old Zimbabwe international joined Les Parisiens with a clear mission—to help steer the club away from relegation in Ligue 1. Since his arrival, he has proven instrumental in that fight, delivering consistent performances and crucial goals.

Munetsi has netted four times in 11 league appearances, playing a key role in lifting Paris FC up the table. Under the guidance of Antoine Kombouaré, the club has gradually distanced itself from the drop zone and now sits 13th, holding a comfortable nine-point cushion above the relegation places with just six matches remaining.

His impact was once again evident over the weekend, when he found the net in a 1-1 draw against FC Lorient, continuing his impressive run of form in the French top flight.

With Paris FC edging closer to securing their Ligue 1 status, attention is beginning to turn toward the future—and Munetsi has not ruled out extending his stay in the French capital beyond his current loan spell.

Speaking after the Lorient clash, the midfielder expressed his happiness at the club and hinted at the possibility of a longer-term commitment:

“I feel good here alongside some players that I know. We get on well and you see that on the pitch. You can’t buy this atmosphere; it’s there, or it isn’t. I came for six months and I am focused on the six games remaining. We will see what discussions are had at the end of the season. There is a great project here. My family like it here in Paris. My two boys were born in France. It is also my country a bit.”

Munetsi’s remarks suggest a strong emotional and professional connection to Paris FC, where he has quickly become a central figure both on and off the pitch.

As the season enters its decisive phase, his performances could not only secure the club’s survival but also pave the way for a permanent move. For a player who endured a difficult spell in England, Paris has offered a fresh start—and possibly a new home.
