Anderlecht begin development plan for Algeria Under-23 winger Willsem Boussaid

Anderlecht have confirmed the arrival of Algeria Under-23 winger Willsem Boussaid from La Berrichonne Chateauroux, with the 20-year-old signing a contract that runs until 2028.

Boussaid has agreed to a two-year deal with the Belgian club, which also includes an option for a further season. The move represents the next stage of a career that has taken him from the French youth system to a first opportunity abroad.

Primarily a right-sided attacker, Boussaid is viewed by Anderlecht as a young player with the potential to develop within their structure. However, he will not initially join the club’s senior squad in the Jupiler Pro League.

Instead, the winger will begin with RSCA Futures, Anderlecht’s professional reserve team. The side competes in the Challenger Pro League, the second tier of Belgian football, offering Boussaid the chance to adapt to his new surroundings while playing regular competitive football.

That route is a familiar one for players of Boussaid’s age and profile. RSCA Futures provide a bridge between youth football and the first team, with promising players given the opportunity to progress towards senior involvement. Anderlecht have built a strong reputation in recent years for developing young talent and helping players move towards the European elite.

Boussaid joined Chateauroux in December 2025 and made 15 appearances for the club’s first team. His time in the French league gave him valuable senior experience before he decided to continue his development outside France.

The winger began his football education at US Creteil-Lusitanos, where he spent five seasons. He later continued through the youth ranks at US Lusitanos, RC Joinville and RC Strasbourg Alsace, and also spent time with SCO Angers before moving to Chateauroux.

His transfer to Anderlecht now gives him a fresh opportunity in Belgium. The immediate objective will be to establish himself with RSCA Futures, while ultimately working towards a place in Anderlecht’s professional squad and fulfilling the potential he has shown since the early stages of his career.

The Belgian club are also preparing for their Europa League qualification play-off first leg against Kairat Almaty. Betting company 1xbet listed Anderlecht at 2.12 to win the match, with a draw priced at 3.50 and a Kairat Almaty victory at 3.37.

For Boussaid, the move comes as Anderlecht continue to combine the demands of senior European football with a development pathway designed to introduce emerging players to the professional game. His progress with RSCA Futures will now be closely watched as he begins his first spell outside France.
