Hopefully we will catch up with Arsenal after international break after EFL Cup triumph – Antoine Semenyo
Ghana international Antoine Semenyo believes Manchester City’s recent EFL Cup victory over Arsenal could set the stage for a strong finish in the Premier League.
Arsenal currently lead the table by nine points, but City hold a game in hand and will face the Gunners at the Etihad next month—a match Semenyo regards as crucial in the title race.
“It gives us a boost and confidence coming back from the international break and hopefully catching up,” Semenyo said following Sunday’s final.
The forward, however, urged caution, noting how quickly momentum can shift in the league.
“We don’t want to say too much because momentum can swing quickly, so we just have to do our job and hopefully finish off the job potentially,” he added.
Semenyo highlighted City’s squad depth and attacking firepower as major factors in their pursuit of the top spot.
“We’ve got top quality players, we create a lot of chances, and we’ve got good goalscorers, so it can change very quickly,” he explained.
Riding the wave of their EFL Cup success, City aim to carry that momentum into the final stretch of the season.
Semenyo, meanwhile, will turn his focus to international duty, as Ghana prepare for friendly clashes against Austria and Germany later this week.
