Morocco reveals Africa’s most comprehensive plan for its various national teams during international break

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has revealed what is the most comprehensive plan for an African country during the international break.
All of the country’s various male national teams will be engaged in a series of friendlies to get them to prepare for upcoming competitions.
The fact that the matches have been planned for the international break later this month also ensures that all their foreign-based players will be released for the matches.
This is the first time in the history of African football that a country has made such comprehensive plan for its male national teams.
Apart from the senior national who have already planned their two friendly matches during the international break to prepare for the 2026 World Cup, programme of matches and preparatory training camps for the various national youth teams during the international break from 23 to 31 March 2026.
The preparatory matches have been planned for both home and abroad depending on the schedule of the respective teams.
The U23, U20, U18, U17, U16 and U15 sides will all be playing in various friendlies during the international break.
This has been hailed as the first in Africa where all male junior national teams will be engaged in preparatory matches.
These preparatory camps are part of the ongoing work carried out by the National Technical Directorate to develop young football talents, while also preparing the different national teams for upcoming continental and international competitions.
Below is the programme of matches and training camps for the youth national teams:
Under-23 National Team
The team will play two friendly matches:
26 March 2026: Morocco vs Saudi Arabia
31 March 2026: Morocco vs Côte d’Ivoire
Venue: Mohammed VI Football Complex
Under-20 National Team
The team will play two friendly matches against:
Union Touarga first team
Meknès Club first team
Venue: Mohammed VI Football Complex
Under-18 National Team
The team will participate in a friendly tournament in Portugal, playing the following matches:
25 March 2026: Morocco vs Portugal
28 March 2026: Morocco vs United States
31 March 2026: Morocco vs Iceland
Location: Portugal
Under-17 National Team
The team will play two friendly matches against Uzbekistan:
17 March 2026: Morocco vs Uzbekistan
19 March 2026: Morocco vs Uzbekistan
Venue: Mohammed VI Football Complex
The Under-17 national team
The will also participate in the UNAF North African Championship qualifiers for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from 24 March to 5 April 2026 in Libya.
Under-16 National Team
The team will play three friendly matches:
25 March 2026: Morocco vs Norway
28 March 2026: Morocco vs Turkey
30 March 2026: Morocco vs Ukraine
Location: Turkey
Under-15 National Team
The team will participate in the African Schools
Championship for Under-15 teams, which will take place from 2 to 10 April 2026 in Mozambique.
The revelation of th comprehensive and well funded training schedule for the various male national teams show the seriousness of Morocco in preparing not just their senior national teams but also the junior sides to help the prepare better and also win major competitions and unveil talents.
Morocco has seen massive development in infrastructure and such training schedule will go to augment the plans to help them realize the sides reach their full potential and make the desired impact.
