Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy returns to Dortmund, misses final World Cup qualifier

Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy is attracting significant interest ahead of the summer transfer window, although a potential move to Saudi Arabia is reportedly not his main priority.

The 29-year-old Guinean forward remains under contract with Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2028, but uncertainty surrounds whether he will stay at the club for the duration of that deal as transfer speculation continues to grow.

According to Sport Bild, Italian giants AC Milan have placed Guirassy on their shortlist of potential attacking targets, although he is not the only option being considered by the Serie A club.

Guirassy’s release clause, which is expected to be around €45 million next summer and only applies to certain clubs, does not cover Milan. As a result, if the Italian side decides to pursue the striker, Borussia Dortmund would be free to negotiate the transfer fee.

The report also indicates that several other European clubs expected to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season have already approached Guirassy’s representatives regarding a possible move.

While there has been interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, the striker reportedly views such a move as a secondary option at this stage of his career. Nevertheless, he has not completely ruled out the possibility of playing in Saudi Arabia in the future.

Guirassy is expected to make a final decision about his future shortly after the end of the current season, likely in May. At that point, he will determine whether to request a transfer from Borussia Dortmund or remain with the club in pursuit of his ambition to win major trophies with the Bundesliga side.
