Algeria’s women face the Central African Republic on Tuesday in the second leg of the second round of African qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The match will be played at Hocine Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi-Ouzou, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 French time and 18:00 in Algeria.

No broadcaster has been announced in France. In Algeria, the game will be shown live on ENTV and TV6.

Algeria are in a commanding position after an emphatic 8-0 victory in the first leg at the 5 July 1962 Stadium in Algiers on 9 October.

Seven different Algerian players found the net in that match, following an own goal by Central African Republic captain Havila Ndoumba. The scorers were Marine Dafeur, Lina Boussaha, Sofia Bekhaled, Naili Nouhed, Ines Belloumou, Lynda Bendris and debutant Nesrime Bahlouli.

The result leaves Farid Benstiti’s side almost certain to reach the third preliminary round of Olympic qualifying, although they must complete the job in the return fixture against the Bamara of Bas-Oubangui.

A successful outcome would represent another step towards a historic Olympic qualification for Algeria. The team, bronze medallists at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, would then be three finals away from reaching the Olympic tournament.

Their potential opponents in the next round are Burkina Faso, who beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in Ouagadougou in the first leg of their tie. The second match in that contest is also scheduled for Tuesday.
