Morocco’s women’s national team were held to a goalless draw by Uzbekistan in their second friendly meeting on Monday evening at the city’s stadium in Rabat.

The Atlas Lionesses struggled to create clear scoring opportunities, while Uzbekistan also failed to find a breakthrough as the match ended 0-0.

The result followed Morocco’s 3-1 victory over the same opponents in their first friendly on Friday.

Blahic rotates Morocco’s squad

Morocco head coach Eric Blahic made several changes to his starting line-up, giving opportunities to players performing in the domestic league, alongside young talents and professionals who have had limited chances to start in recent matches.

The changes formed part of the French coach’s efforts to assess his squad during his first preparatory camp in charge of the national team.

Monday’s encounter marked the second meeting between the sides during the current international camp, with the Atlas Lionesses unable to repeat their winning performance from the opening fixture.

Focus turns to future competitions

The two friendlies form part of Morocco’s preparations under Blahic as the team builds towards upcoming competitions.

Among the major objectives ahead are the qualifying matches for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with the camp providing the new coach an opportunity to evaluate his players and work on the team’s preparations.
