Yaya Touré backs Manchester City to outshine Arsenal in title race
Former Yaya Touré believes Manchester City are playing better football than Arsenal and has backed the reigning champions to win the Premier League title.
The Ivorian, who enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at City, expressed strong confidence in the club’s ability to stay ahead in the title race, pointing to their style of play, experience and tactical discipline as decisive factors.
Touré did not hesitate when asked about City’s prospects of lifting the trophy.
“For me, Manchester City plays better games than Arsenal. The style, the experience, the way they approach matches ,” he said. “Will City win the Premier League? Yes!” he added.
City and Arsenal have been closely matched in recent seasons, but Touré believes the champions’ composure and maturity give them the edge at this stage of the campaign.
He highlighted the team’s structured approach to matches and the know-how gained from competing at the highest level as strengths that could prove decisive.
The former midfielder also identified the upcoming EFL Cup final as a significant moment in the season. He suggested that success in the showpiece match could provide momentum for the closing months of the campaign.
“As a Manchester City supporter, we’re here, always behind them,” he stated. “The Carabao Cup final could be a turning point.
If Manchester City wins this match, it could be a huge boost. I hope they win, because it will be crucial for the rest of the season.”
Touré’s remarks underline his belief that City possess not only the technical quality but also the mentality required to navigate the pressure of a title run-in.
