Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy to consider Dortmund exit next summer due to trophy ambitions
Serhou Guirassy is reportedly considering his future at Borussia Dortmund as he looks to compete for major honours in the coming seasons.
The Guinean forward has been Dortmund’s leading attacking force, registering 16 goals and six assists to underline his importance to the side. Despite his individual impact, the team’s struggles in the Bundesliga have raised questions about their ability to consistently challenge for silverware.
Following a 3-2 defeat to FC Bayern Munich, Dortmund’s gap to the league leaders widened significantly, fuelling concerns that another title-less campaign could be on the horizon.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Guirassy believes it will be “very complicated” to wrestle the Bundesliga crown away from Bayern, prompting serious reflection about his next move.
Although the 29-year-old remains under contract until 2028, reports suggest he could seek a new challenge next summer if the right opportunity arises. AC Milan have emerged as a potential destination, particularly if they secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League. The Italian giants are said to be prioritising the addition of a new centre forward, with Guirassy reportedly high on their shortlist.
There is also speculation surrounding a release clause believed to be in the region of €50 million, which could make a transfer feasible for interested clubs.
As long as Dortmund’s title ambitions remain uncertain, the conversation around Guirassy’s future is unlikely to fade.
