AS FAR secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League after holding Al Ahly to a 0-0 draw in Cairo on Sunday.
The result was enough to send the Moroccan side through following the final round of group-stage matches.
The home team controlled much of the opening period and created early chances.
Mohamed Ben Romdhane came close in the fifth minute before Aliou Dieng tested the goalkeeper a minute later, but both efforts were denied by a series of saves from Ahmed Tagnaouti.
AS FAR remained compact defensively throughout the first half, limiting space and resisting sustained pressure, though they offered little threat going forward.
After the break the pattern continued, with Al Ahly pushing for a breakthrough despite having already secured their own place in the quarter-finals before the final matchday.
The Moroccan side, however, maintained discipline at the back and protected the draw they needed to progress.
With qualification confirmed, AS FAR move into the knockout stage after a controlled defensive display in Cairo, while their opponents end the group phase having already guaranteed advancement prior to the match.
