Five minutes later, Dortmund doubled their advantage.
This time it was defender Niklas Süle who turned provider’s work into reward, again benefiting from Ryerson’s delivery to make it 2-0.
Mainz struggled to contain the home side’s intensity as Dortmund pressed for further goals.
Guirassy was not finished. In the 42nd minute, he added his second of the evening, once more set up by Ryerson.
The goal marked his fourth in three Bundesliga matches, underlining his importance to Dortmund’s attacking momentum.
The double ensured Dortmund headed into the interval with a commanding lead and the prospect of securing all three points.
Guirassy’s consistency in recent games has provided a significant boost, and his latest contribution once again highlighted his influence in the final third.
