Manchester City striker Antoine Semenyo has etched his name into English Premier League history by becoming the first Ghanaian player to score 13 goals in a single top-flight season.
The Black Stars forward reached the milestone on Wednesday night, netting for City in their match against Fulham.
In doing so, Semenyo surpassed a record long held by fellow Ghanaian Tony Yeboah, who scored 12 goals for Leeds United during the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons. The mark was later equalled by André Ayew at Swansea City in the 2015/16 campaign.
Semenyo had come close to this achievement in the 2024/25 season with 11 goals, but his latest tally sets a new benchmark for Ghanaian players in the Premier League.
Since his rise from the Championship to England’s top division, Semenyo has consistently demonstrated his quality, establishing himself as one of the league’s standout performers and a key asset for Manchester City.
His record-breaking season highlights both his finishing ability and his growing influence in one of the world’s most competitive leagues.
