Highly rated Cameroonian youngster Serge Daura is on the brink of completing a high-profile move to Egyptian giants Al Ahly, a transfer that could mark a major turning point in his rapidly rising career.
Daura, who finished as the top scorer in the 2024–25 season of Cameroon’s Elite One, has been one of the most talked-about young talents in Central African football.
As per sources, the 19-year-old forward is expected to sign a contract lasting between two and three years, underlining Al Ahly’s long-term faith in his potential.
The versatile attacking player is believed to have already arrived in Cairo to put the finishing touches on the move, with final discussions and formalities underway. Should the transfer be completed, Daura will bid farewell to Gazelle FA, the club where his prolific goal-scoring exploits propelled him into the continental spotlight.
A switch to the Egyptian Premier League would represent a significant step up for the teenage striker, who will now be tasked with proving himself in one of Africa’s most competitive and physically demanding leagues. The move also offers him the opportunity to develop under intense pressure and high expectations, as Al Ahly are renowned for their winning culture and relentless pursuit of success.
When unveiled, Daura will don the colours of one of Africa’s most iconic clubs, a side that has written its name into football history with a record 12 CAF Champions League titles.
For the young Cameroonian, joining Al Ahly would not only be a dream move but also a chance to test his talent on the biggest stages of African club football.
