Olympique de Marseille have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi, securing the 22-year-old from Belgian side SV Zulte Waregem in a deal reported to be worth around €6m.

The move, confirmed by the Ligue 1 club on Monday, February 2, 2026, brings to an end weeks of speculation surrounding Nnadi’s future after his rapid rise in European football.

Marseille announced the transfer with a short message on their official channels, stating: “Welcome to Marseille, Tochukwu.”

Nnadi arrives at the Stade Vélodrome following a steady and carefully built career path that has taken him through several stages of development across different countries.

He began his football education at Campos FC before continuing his training at the Madenat Alamal Football Academy in Dubai, an experience that proved crucial in shaping his transition into professional football.

His first senior contract came in August 2021, when he joined Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv.

The move marked his introduction to European competition and provided him with regular exposure at professional level.

After gaining experience in Bulgaria, Nnadi took another step forward in January 2024 by signing for SV Zulte Waregem.

In Belgium, the Nigerian midfielder established himself through a series of consistent performances, earning recognition for his reliability and progression in midfield.

His form did not go unnoticed, attracting the attention of the Nigerian national team setup and placing him firmly on the radar at international level.

That rise was confirmed in 2025 when Nnadi was selected for Nigeria’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

During the tournament, he earned his first senior cap for the Super Eagles and played a role in a campaign that ended with Nigeria claiming the bronze medal.

The experience further strengthened his profile and underlined his readiness for a move to a higher level.

By securing Nnadi’s signature, Marseille add a midfielder with experience across multiple European leagues and exposure to international football despite his young age.

The club will now look to integrate him into its squad as preparations continue for the remainder of the season.

For Nnadi, the transfer represents the next stage in a career marked by gradual progress and increasing responsibility, as he prepares to test himself in French football with one of the country’s most high-profile clubs.
