Antoine Baroan is being linked with a switch across Bucharest from FC Rapid 1923 to city rivals FC Dinamo in a move that would keep the 25-year-old in Romania’s SuperLiga but change the colour of his stripes.
The France and Côte d’Ivoire-eligible centre-forward is currently on the books of Rapid, with his market value listed at €600k, and is on loan at Portuguese side Avs Futebol (Avs FS). Data from Transfermarkt flags Dinamo as potential suitors, though the probability of the transfer is currently marked only as “?”, underlining how early and uncertain the talks appear to be. With no contract expiry date publicly recorded for his Rapid deal, observers have also noted the possibility that Baroan’s situation could eventually evolve towards a free-agent scenario if no agreement is found.
Baroan, a left-footed attacker standing at 1.88m, has built a reputation as a physically imposing focal point who can operate through the middle. His recent career has been nomadic: after emerging at Chamois Niortais in France, he moved to Bulgaria with Botev Plovdiv, where his market value peaked at around €1.6m following a strong 2022–23 campaign, before later spells with Ludogorets Razgrad, FC Winterthur in Switzerland and then Rapid.
The forward has already sampled multiple European leagues – Ligue 2 and the French lower tiers, Bulgaria’s First League, the Swiss Super League and now Romania’s SuperLiga, as well as a current stint in Portugal with Avs Futebol. This breadth of experience is thought to appeal to Dinamo as they look for affordable attacking options, with his €600k valuation suggesting a potentially manageable fee or loan arrangement if Rapid are willing to negotiate.
