Al Ahly face Smouha in Egyptian Premier League clash – kick-off time and TV channel

Al Ahly will continue their Egyptian Premier League campaign against Smouha in the third round, with the match scheduled for Thursday, 3 September at Cairo International Stadium.

The Egyptian Premier League decided to stage the fixture on Thursday because no matches could be played at Cairo International Stadium on 1 or 2 September. The venue will therefore host the meeting between the two sides on the later date.

Al Ahly go into the match with maximum points from their opening two games. They beat Eastern Company/ENPPI before following that result with a 2-1 victory over ZED FC in the second round.

That win over ZED FC moved Al Ahly’s total to six points and maintained their perfect start to the season. Their latest result came after a match in which they secured the points by a two-goal-to-one margin.

Smouha, meanwhile, drew 0-0 with Asyut Petroleum in their second-round match. They are listed in 14th place with one point, with their record described as one win and one draw.

The fixture will give both teams a further opportunity to improve their position early in the campaign. Al Ahly will be looking to extend their winning run, while Smouha will try to build on their result against Asyut Petroleum when they visit Cairo International Stadium.
