Atalanta President Luca Percassi has dismissed renewed speculation linking Ademola Lookman with a move to Napoli, stressing the Super Eagles star is not leaving the club.
Napoli had shown interest in the enterprising Nigeria international during the summer window, but Lookman turned down the move as he preferred a move to Inter Milan.
Besides, Atalanta ruled out a move for the former Fulham winger to any Italian opposition, derailing his move last summer.
After an impressive AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco, where the 2024 CAF Player of the Year registered the most goal contributions, Lookman is again attracting attention.
Napoli, out of the Champions League and seeking reinforcements for the league, are reportedly considering a loan bid.
However, Percassi played down exit rumours, saying: “Does Lookman stay until the end of the season?…We just want to do well.”
Coach Raffaele Palladino says Lookman’s limited starts are due to workload management.
Lookman has endured a relatively quiet start to the current campaign, registering three goals and two assists in 19 outings across all competitions.
With his contract due to expire at the end of next season, Atalanta could be under pressure to cash in rather than risk losing him for a reduced fee.
