Young Africans Sports Club have opened discussions over a potential move for Stade Malien striker Taddeus Nkeng after the Cameroonian’s impressive performances in this season’s African Champions League.
Nkeng, who joined the Bamako-based side last summer, has quickly established himself as one of the most influential attacking players for the Blues and Whites.
His impact on the continental stage has not gone unnoticed, the Tanzanian champions are now actively exploring the possibility of securing his signature.
Sources indicate that Young Africans, commonly known as Yanga, have already begun serious negotiations with Stade Malien as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
The Yellow and Green club, currently leading the Tanzanian league, are said to be weighing up a formal bid in the region of 500,000 euros in an effort to persuade the Malian side to part with their forward.
Nkeng’s form in the African Champions League has played a central role in attracting this interest.
The 24-year-old has featured in five matches in the competition this season, scoring four goals and registering three assists, numbers that underline his growing influence and efficiency in front of goal.
Since arriving in Bamako, the Cameroonian international has become a key figure in Stade Malien’s attacking set-up, delivering consistent performances that have elevated his profile beyond the Malian league.
His displays have also placed him among the most closely watched foreign players currently plying their trade in Mali’s top flight.
Young Africans’ interest reflects their ambition to reinforce their squad with proven performers from across the continent, particularly those with experience in high-level African competition.
Nkeng’s Champions League contributions appear to have convinced the club’s hierarchy that he could add immediate value to their title push and continental objectives.
The striker brings with him a diverse footballing background, having previously represented FC Porto, HJK Helsinki and Carabobo FC before his move to Stade Malien.
That experience, combined with his recent form, has contributed to his rising market standing.
According to figures listed on the Transfermarkt website, Nkeng’s current estimated market value stands at 300,000 euros.
Any potential transfer, however, would depend on ongoing negotiations between the two clubs and Stade Malien’s willingness to release one of their standout performers.
For now, discussions remain ongoing, but Nkeng’s strong Champions League campaign has firmly placed him on Young Africans’ recruitment radar.
