Moroccan teenager Ziyad Baha has completed a move to Olympique de Marseille, leaving Spanish club Calavera to join one of France’s most prestigious teams.
The 16-year-old forward confirmed the transfer on his Instagram account, marking a significant milestone in his fledgling career.
Baha has been training with Marseille’s youth setup for the past month, and after weighing his options, he decided to join the French side despite interest from Real Betis.
“A new chapter begins with Olympique de Marseille,” he wrote. “I have already been training and progressing in Marseille for a month. After reflection, I have chosen a different path, despite the opportunities to continue at Real Betis, because I wanted to take a step that corresponds to my ambitions and my development as a footballer.”
The young striker said the move offers a chance to challenge himself daily, continue learning, and compete at a higher level.
“This new chapter is an opportunity to push myself every day, to continue to learn and to take on new challenges at the highest level. I approach this stage with ambition and determination and with one idea in mind: only forward,” he added.
Baha first attracted international attention through his performances with Morocco’s U17 national team. He played a key role in Morocco’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations triumph and scored several goals at the U17 World Cup, where the team reached the quarter-finals.
At Marseille, he will continue his development within the club’s youth ranks, with the long-term goal of earning a place in the senior squad.
