Benin U20 Women set for France test with attacking line-up at Clairefontaine
Benin’s U20 women have confirmed their starting XI for their prestigious behind-closed-doors friendly against France at Clairefontaine.
The Amazones will use the match to assess their level against one of Europe’s leading national teams as preparations continue for the upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
Head coach has selected a balanced side for the encounter, with Larissa Saizonou starting in goal and a back four of Jocelyne Tchetchri, Estelle Vidinhouede, Assanath Alassane and Nailath Sadikou in front of her.
Saizonou will wear number 23, while Tchetchri has been named at right-back with the number 04 shirt. Vidinhouede will wear 17, Alassane 21 and Sadikou 20.
The midfield will be anchored by Hermionne Lokossou, Deo Gratias Ebi and captain-style number 10 Yasminath Djibril. Lokossou has been assigned shirt 05, Ebi will wear 12 and Djibril takes the number 10 role.
Benin will look to its front three to provide pace and attacking threat against the French side. Germaine Honfo, Hosane Soukou and Romaine Gandonou will lead the line, wearing numbers 22, 14 and 07 respectively.
The fixture is being played behind closed doors at the French national training centre shortly before kick-off. It represents a significant test for the Benin squad, which is seeking to measure its competitiveness against high-level opposition ahead of the global tournament.
The selection provides the Amazones with a clear attacking structure, while retaining a four-player defensive line and a three-woman midfield. The Benin coaching staff have opted for a side capable of competing across the pitch as they face the Bleuettes.
