Chelsea have made it clear they have no intention of selling Josh Acheampong, despite growing interest from several European clubs.
The young defender, a product of the club’s academy, has recently been linked with Crystal Palace and Bayern Munich, but Chelsea see his departure as “impossible” at this stage.
Acheampong has made just nine Premier League appearances this season, which has encouraged rivals to believe they could tempt him with more regular first team football. Even so, Chelsea are convinced about his potential and regard him as a key part of their long term plans rather than a player to cash in on.
The youngster featured in Liam Rosenior’s first three matches in charge before dropping to the bench for games against Pafos and Crystal Palace.
That brief reduction in minutes has not changed the club’s stance, with the hierarchy determined to keep him and support his development at Stamford Bridge.
For now, interested clubs will have to look elsewhere, as Chelsea remain firm that Josh Acheampong is staying put.
