RB Leipzig are demanding €80 million for Ivorian winger Yan Diomande as the forward continues to draw intense interest from Europe’s elite, with Bayern Munich and Liverpool closely monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old Ivorian has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young attackers, pushing his name to the top of Bayern’s wishlist.
Following a series of impressive performances in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich have reportedly set a clear internal stance on a potential deal. The German giants are said to be unwilling to go beyond a €60 million offer for Diomande, despite growing competition for his signature.
Bayern officials were able to assess the winger first-hand during a recent meeting, where Diomande stood out, particularly in the first half, troubling the Munich defence with his dribbling and attacking flair.
The Bayern hierarchy views the upcoming summer as a crucial window if a deal is to happen. According to the BILD podcast Bayern Insider, the club believes this is their only realistic opportunity to sign Diomande.
The internal feeling is that should the winger remain at Leipzig for another season, a move to England would be inevitable, effectively pricing Bayern out of any future negotiations.
Liverpool are believed to be leading the chase, with reports suggesting the Premier League side is already preparing a concrete offer. While Bayern have drawn a firm line at €60 million, Leipzig are understood to be holding out for a substantially higher fee.
RB Leipzig’s stance has been reinforced by club chief Oliver Mintzlaff, who recently made it clear that even offers in the region of €80 to €90 million would not necessarily guarantee Diomande’s departure. His comments underline Leipzig’s determination to retain one of their prized assets unless their valuation is fully met.
