Jessic Ngankam emerges as Hertha BSC target in reported Frankfurt switch

German-Cameroonian forward Jessic Ngankam is being linked with a move from Frankfurt to Hertha BSC, with the proposed transfer taking the 26-year-old from the Bundesliga to the German second tier.

Ngankam plays as a centre-forward and is currently contracted to Frankfurt until 30 June 2028. The length of that agreement means any move to Hertha would not be a free transfer, while his listed market value is €700,000.

The reported interest comes as Hertha, who compete in the 2. Bundesliga, are linked with a player currently based in Germany’s top flight. Ngankam’s profile as a central striker is the only positional detail attached to the rumour, and no transfer fee or agreement has been reported.

The move has not been confirmed, and Ngankam remains a Frankfurt player. His current contract places him under the club’s control for the next two seasons, giving Frankfurt a firm contractual position should discussions over a transfer develop.

Ngankam’s nationality is listed as both German and Cameroonian. The rumour was recorded on 12 August 2026, with Hertha BSC named as the club pursuing a possible deal. For now, the forward’s contractual situation at Frankfurt remains unchanged.
